Just Write Licence

Just Write is a screenwriting app that happens to know what a production is.

The writing room on its own — the page, the format, the revisions, the collaboration. It needs nothing else in preSlate to work.

• Screenplay format as you type. Tab cycles a line through action, cue, slugline and transition. SmartType offers the times of day, the sets already in the script, and the cues.
• Dictation that puts the shape back. Say “interior packing house day” and get a slugline. “Scratch that” takes it back.
• Tag the page while you write it. Characters, props, wardrobe, vehicles, stunts and ten more, kept on the document.
• Final Draft and Fountain, both ways. Import and export .fdx, Fountain and PDF.
• Revisions the way a production does them. White, blue, pink, yellow, green, goldenrod. Locked pages, A-pages, omitted scenes kept with their numbers.
• Two people, one page. Real cursors, a real merge, every change attributed to whoever made it.
• It works with the connection off. Keep writing on a plane. It syncs when you land.
• The story, not only the pages. A beat board by act, a character bible, and reports on scenes, characters, sets and dialogue.

The add-on. When you are ready, one switch hands the characters and the sets you have written to the rest of preSlate, and the breakdown, the board and the call sheet build themselves from your script. Off by default. Nothing leaves the page until you say so — that handoff needs a preSlate licence.

This licence opens the writing room. It does not open the rest of preSlate — the stripboard, call sheets, Day out of Days and budget are the preSlate Licence at $40/month.
